└── **Caroline McArtor**, b. between 1800 and 1805 (see below)

/----     **  Isaac McArtor**, (see below)

Note: **Caroline's parentage is unproven.  She is not mentioned in his will but she is still possibly Jonathan's daughter.  She gave birth to an illegitimate child in the household of Richard Reiley in 1825.  Richard Reiley' wife was Elizabeth McArtor, so possibly Caroline's sister.  The acknowledged father was Mahlon Thompson.  Jonathan's farm was located next to a Thompson family but whether a Mahlon Thompson was a neighbor is unknown.

Note:  Another unproven child is **Isaac McArtor.  Tax records list Jonathan and his "son Isaac" in 1811.  Moses and James McArtor provided bail money for an Isaac McArtor/McCarty after an arrest in 1812, which suggests some type of connection - brother, cousin, etc.  Isaac does not appear in Jonathan's will however.  If he was a son perhaps he died before 1835 or was disowned, etc.

(1) Calculated by researchers, assuming Jonathan was 25 when his son Moses was born in 1780.

(2)  Reported by family members in the Chancery case McCarter vs. McCarter.

(3) Jonathan & Mary bought land in 1815; 1828 was the year Jonathan's housekeeper Betsey Saxton was hired, we assume that Mary was no longer alive and Jonathan needed household help.
